BEAU'S CNM CERTIFICATE

I sent a DNA sample from Beau to France to be checked for an inherited "Centronuclear Myopathy" (CNM). The results of this test indicated that, "he is not at risk for transmiting the deleterious gene". He, therefore, received the CNM database registration number, LR-CNM05-084-M-PIV. This clearance also means that neither his mother, Rose, his sister Mud or any of their pups are carriers of this muscular disorder. More information is available at http://www.labradorcnm.com.

ROSE WON

Rose was entered in the dog show in Trenton today. The Pictou County Kennel Club had an outdoor show, Gerona MacCUAIG from Sterling Ontario was the judge. Rose earned 4 points, 6 more required for her CH title.

ROSE NEWS

Puddleduck Kennels notified me that Rose was bred Friday morning. She will have pups on 4th of Noveber, if she caught this mating. They will breed her again Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday, just to make sure. I'll have her home in time for the Trenton Show, her and Mut are both entered.

CHOCOLATE LITTER

Rose is in USA being bred to Puddleduck's Mallard Drake. Drake is the sire of Mud's last litter. Drake's sire won the Americian National in 2001, has a Master Hunter, a Show Chamption and Tracking titles. More information at puddleduckretrievers.com. This litter is expected to be ready to go at Christmas time.

ROO'S FATHER'S TITLE

I asked Roo's breeder to explain the Field Trial title that was the subject of my last post, here is her reply ..

"Hi Don

The Grand Champion Title is new this year. The requirement is that the dog earns 120 championship points. These are gained by winning All Age/Open Stakes and Championships. Points awarded for AA/Open Stakes are 6 for the win and a Championship is worth 12 points, with 6 points for the Runner/up.
The dog has to win 12 points in championship competition to qualify.
There are 4 Grand Retrieving Trial Champions in Australia and MONTY is the 5th and the youngest by 3 years. Of the other 4, 3 of them were either bred at Kadnook or are from our dogs.
Hope this helps
Regards

Jill"

ROO'S FATHER

I just received this note from Kadnook Kennels.

"Thought that you would like to know that ROO'S dad is now GRAND RETRIEVING
TRIAL CH. KADNOOK PRIDE OV CORK. He was runner-up in the ACT State
Championship Retrieving Trial over the weekend and gained enough points for
his grand title. He is 5 years old today so he has done exceptionally well."
