LUCKY PUP, UNLUCKY OWNER

Christina and Paul DREW purchased an Ada/Sailor pup from the 12 Nov 04 litter. They called this yellow female, "Holly". Holly became quite sick when she was about three months old because she had eaten some foreign objects that had to be surgically removed. The operation went just fine but she failed to make a complete recovery, diarrhoea was a recurring problem. Christina made many trips to the Vet, tried many types of food, various tests and many sleepless nights but despite her very best efforts the problem persisted. Christina did everything she could but she became convinced the kindest act would be to put Holly down, everyone agreed. Christina loved this pup enough to come to this decision, take her to Vet and stay with her to the end. Holly was a very lucky pup to have Christina.

I know that there aren't any words to ease your pain right now but feel confident in your decision. You did what was best. Holly was very lucky to have been loved and cared for by you. I had the opportunity of meeting Holly and she was a wonderful girl! Krista Josey

Hello, i just wanted to say how sad we were to hear of the fate of Holly. We had the pleasure of meeting Holly and Christina while attending Dons obiedience classes at the Paw Plex in Dartmouth. Even though Holly was sick you would have never known it, she was always full of energy and excited to see the other dogs. Christina, we praise you for all of your hard work and time that you gave to Holly, she was a beautiful dog who deserved every second of it. Coming from fellow lab owners we understand how hard it is to keep a close eye on them all of the time, just when we think we can trust Jasper a little more she comes back into the house with something new in her mouth, so no matter how careful you are accidents still do happen. Don you could not of said it any better, Holly was very lucky to have Christina, and we were very lucky to have met Holly. Angie, Shawn & Doindogs Jasper
