MICROCHIP INFO

Canada has joined the rest of the world! Canadians have been using "FECAVA" microchips since they were introduced in 1995. Many versions of microchips were available then and were being used by various countries. It soon became apparent that a standard was required, an "ISO" Standard was established and most countries adopted it. Canada and the USA have been among the last countries to adopt the ISO chip. Beginning 1 Aug 05 the Canadian standard will be the ISO. The ISO chip could be implanted now except the various manufacturers must first gain the blessings of the CKC. Some manufacturers of microchips have made applications but none have been approved to date.
